about us

McMaster & Storm, a petite department store, is one of a kind that stands out at the end of Broadway Street across from Annie Oakley Memorial. Dracy and Kara picked a historical turn of the century building that speaks volumes of what is tucked inside. McMaster & Storm is detailed, from the signature wrapping to the hand stamped pricing.

Both gals had previous stores; Kara ran a boutique in California and Darcy in her home. Upon moving back to her home state of Ohio, Kara met up with Darcy. They wanted to bring a piece of the "West Coast meets the Midwest" to Ohio.

Since opening up in the Spring of 2005 customers have exclaimed "We've never seen anything like this in Ohio and in Greenville to boot." Customers regularly come in to see displays and purchase from a store that is on "the human scale" and is filled with personality from the two spunky owners. We are also happy to have inspired others to open shop in this historic town filled with early 1900 buildings.

what's in the name?

McMaster & Storm represents Kara and Darcy's ancestry. We wanted something that had a "department store ring to it" so this combo was chosen. The fact that its personal and timeless appeals to us.

Rural Darke County is the birthplace of the famed sharp shooter Annie Oakley. She would sell her game in downtown Greenville. Her statue is situated within view of our store. Her story continues to inspire and brings a touch of romance to our town.
